The North Skyline trail is the longest of the three routes out of Ogden Valley leading to Ben Lomond Peak. It's also the least steep.
Note: This trail is open to off-road motorcycles. | Description: North Skyline Trail climbs steadily for its first two miles, criss-crossing the mountainside with several major switchbacks. After conquering these switchbacks, you can expect to make good time through a cool conifer forest and along a ridge that runs to Ben Lomond Peak at 9,712 feet, and thereafter, northward to Willard Peak at 9,764 feet.
The first two miles of the trail are along a south-facing slope, so this section can be hot and dry throughout the summer. | Trailhead location: The North Skyline Trail begins at the North Ogden Divide Trailhead, across the road from the trailhead parking area. | Trail history: The Skyline Trail is a major segment of The Great Western Trail.
